Judy Marie Pace

-

On Saturday June 9, 2018 Judy passed away in Edmonton peacefully with her loving husband and family by her side, just 6 days before her 73 birthday.

She is survived by her husband Aldo, her son Lee, daughter Rhonda (Blaine) Bilyk, daughter Caroline (Tony) Genest, 6 Grandchildren Corey (Brooke), Drew, Lindsey, Tyler, Kyle, & Shawn, and 1 great grandson Parker. Her 3 sisters-in-law Teresa (Carlo) Decol, Berna (Carmelo) Campese, Loretta (Carmine) Maddalena, several nieces, nephews, and many wonderful friends.

She is predeceased by her parents Lawrence and Evelyn, her sisters Lynn, Lois, and Joyce, her father and mother-in-law Giuseppe and Maria Pace.

Judy was a true angel here on earth always devoting herself to her husband and children and many dear friends. She had such amazing strength, largely in part to her strong faith in God and the church (She enjoyed volunteering her time as a member of the CWL).Her nature was to give everything of herself and never expect anything in return. She will forever be in our hearts and always in our thoughts.

She was a true survivor.  She beat both breast & ovarian cancer over 20 yrs. ago, but this past year in early 2017 cancer found her again.  She did have a great final year of life feeling healthy and strong, allowing her time to make more special memories with her family and doing what she loved more than anything, taking care of and spoiling her husband.

Special thanks to the nursing staff in Palliative Care Unit 5F at the U of A, and her Doctor Kar Wing Cheung.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 11:00 am, with viewing 1 hour prior at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 13131 – 86 Street, Edmonton.

In Lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to The Alberta Cancer Foundation

200-325 Manning Road NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 2P5

My heart breaks for my cousins and my Uncle on the loss of an amazing lady.

A poem for my Dearest Aunt

When my heart was sad , you were there.
You cheered me up, showed me how much you care.
Without the love you had for me
God only knows where I would be.

To me you were a second mom,
a person I drew wisdom from.
In my corner every step of the way
With advice, a sweet smile and something positive to say.

I won’t forget the things you’ve done,
My loving Aunt, so much like my mom.
A part of family I’ve always felt,
You were the rock through everything you were dealt.

A fighter to the very end,
An inner strength no one could bend.
I’m just not ready to say good-bye,
So to be like you, I promise to try.

This sadness I will always feel,
Losing you now does not seem real.
In my heart you will always be,
The one who inspires me to be me.

I miss you Aunt Judy and this you know,
God’s love for you, his blessing bestowed.
I’m grateful to God for a peaceful end,
And thankful to you Auntie and my love I send. ❤️
