Reinhold & Elsie Herms

Dear Pastor Mel and family, May God comfort your hearts in the home-going of your dear wife, Joy, mother and grandmother. We remember her godly life and example to her family, church and community, and were blessed by her ministry of encouragement and inspired music. Jesus said in John 11:25: ” I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.” Christian love and sympathy, Rev. Reinhold & Elsie Herms, Chilliwack, BC

My heartfelt sympathies to Pastor Mel and the whole family at this time of grief and sorrow. My memories of Joy will be forever etched in my heart. Her generosity, kindness and joyful spirit showed everyone God’s love. I will always see her in my mind’s eye, at the various sites of the Shepherd’s Care Foundation, leading Hymn Sings for our residents. At Greenfield we did it together and what a blessed time we had – even sharing over coffee when the program was done. Whether it was at the Garden Condos, or occasional Kensington Church services, at Southside Manor or at Shepherd’s Caring Friends events, in her role as Vice-President, her ministry in leadership and at the keyboard was a blessing! This journey of grief is very deep, profound and uniquely personal; may the peace of our Lord Jesus continue to be your source of comfort and hope as you go through this valley.
