Jeannette Mary Borysiuk passed away peacefully on August 3, 2016 in Edmonton at the age of 81 years, surrounded by family.

 

Jeannette is survived by her daughter Dawn Coupland ( Bob) of Kelowna, son Bruce Borysiuk of Toronto, daughter Elaine Alpaugh of Edmonton, daughter Pam Lebel (Charles) of Edmonton, grandchildren Evan Coupland (Liz), Danielle Coupland (Brett), Kathleen Coupland and Tristan Lebel.

 

Jeannette was born on October 21, 1934 in Edmonton to Marie and Emile Ponton. Jeannette graduated from Old Strathcona High School 1952. She married John Borysiuk in 1956. Dawn arrived in 1957, Bruce in 1959, Elaine in 1966 and Pam in 1969. She took care of her children at home until she re-entered the insurance industry in the 1970’s where she became a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of Canada, achieved senior underwriter status and received many industry awards until her retirement in 1994.

 

Special thanks to the staff at the Miller Crossing Care Centre and Dr. Kavanagh for their special care and considerations to Jeannette.

 

A celebration of life will be held for Jeannette at 2PM on August 20th, 2016 at Serenity Funeral Service located at 10129 Princess Elizabeth Avenue in Edmonton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Your Mom, Jeannette and I attended the same support group at theCross in 1998 and we became friends, having lunch with others from the group over the years.
She always came with such a positive attitude and we loved hearing how her family was doing. She spoke of you with such joy.

I met Jeanette at the Cross Cancer institute
We were in a breast cancer support group
Our group continued to meet for lunches for many years
Jeanette was a lovely , warm , intelligent women & we shared many interesting stories
Jeanette spoke so highly of her family
I extend my deepest sympathy to the family
