Jason and I became friends 20 years ago. A funny guy and a amazing person. Truly one of a kind. He wore his heart on his sleeve and made everyone around feel better. I actually reconnected with him after years of no contact. It saddens me that he passed so suddenly. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. R.I.P bro, you will be missed

I have many fond memories of Jason. We skateboarded and snowboarded together in our youth. Whether it was making jokes on the lift or shredding down the hill, Jason was eager to live life. I lost touch with him and am sad that I will never get to see him smile again. I will cherish the memories we made. Rest in peace Jason.

Jason you’ll be fondly remembered and sadly missed, my dear nephew, and cousin of Austin and Travis. Remembering you’re great sense of humour making the Elvis comical skits with your cousins Kelly and Craig when they were younger. Rest in peace Jason

Our condolences to my brother Gary, Sharon, and Heather for their tragic loss,

I’m so sad for Jason’s family and offer my deepest sympathies. I met Jason when I was still in high school in Edmonton. He instantly became part of our group of friends, he was such a genuinely nice guy. He always made everyone laugh, it was so easy for him. He was such an unreal snowboarder and skateboarder, I have such amazing memories of Jason that will stay with me forever.

Jason and I spent a lot of time skateboarding and snowboarding during our high school years. His technical ability on the streets and snow made him one of the greats in the sport. Many fond memories stay with me hanging out and having the most fun we could in those days. He was a great friend. It saddens me to know I will never have the opportunity to reminise about the old days and the good times we shared. My condolences go out to his family and loved ones. He will be missed and live on forever in our greatest memories.

We wish to extend our deepest sympathy to my dear brother and his family for the sudden loss of their very dear, caring and loving son Jason; a wonderful, big hearted and loving brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and a great friend.

‘May knowing you are in the hearts and thoughts of others help you through this
time of sorrow.’

“When those we love have left this earth,
We still can feel them near.
We’ll see a picture, hear a song,
And it’s just like they are here.
Those we love remain with us,
For love itself lives on,
Cherished memories never fade,
Because a loved one is gone.
Those we love can never be,
More than a thought apart,
For as long as there is a memory,
They will live on in our heart.”

Rest In Peace My Dear Nephew Jason

With Love,

Through our grief we have to try to take comfort from our fondest memories of Jason. Some of my fondest memories are those when all the kids were younger and happy times were spent at Aunty Johanna’s home in Rocky Mountain House! We can also take some comfort from the fact that our dear sister and his Aunty Sandra (who passed away far too young as well at age 42 in 2007) is there to meet him and take him under her wing. Regardless it will be difficult to keep the tears under control as the family left behind struggles to make sense for his sudden and unexpected death. RIP Jason! May your spirit be soaring happily and your heart filled with sunshine and warmth! xoxox Aunty Gerda

Jason was a great guy always had a smile on his face and made people laugh. I played pool with him many times and he always seem to beat me. He will be missed. My heart goes out to his family for this sad time.

Jason Goossen was a gem of a man. He is one of the few people in this world that I can’t ever remember having an argument with. Always smiling and sooooo hilarious. Much love brother, RIP. YOU WILL BE REMEMBERED ALWAYS. My sincerest condolences to the Goossen family.

Jay Cole

That is terrible news. I remember jamming with Jay in a buddy’s garage on many occasions back in high school and a bit thereafter. He was so talented at guitar and was always fun to be around… Will miss him for sure. My condolences to the Goosen family.

Jay and I worked as apprentice welders for the same company starting back in ’97. His open demeanor and amazing sense of humour ensured we quickly became friends.
We spent many weekends hanging out whether it was playing some hacky sack, a road trip somewhere or the time he taught me how to snowboard.
Unfortunately our paths drifted apart about a decade ago as life often goes.
I regret not keeping in touch more, but there will always be some fantastic memories that will bring a smile to my face.
My sincerest condolences to the Goosen family.

Rest peacefully Jay.

In Loving Memory of my dear nephew, Jason
Jason spent many, many summer days at our home. Craig, Jason and Kelly, they were a team. Starting beginning of summer I would always hear can Jason come over? And Jason would ask can I stay? Of course it was always yes! Up early in the morning, skateboards in hand and out the door. And nights, no different, still skateboarding, either in the basement or in the garage. They would build huge ramps and all we would hear is whoosh, whoosh, up and down the ramps. Those were fun times & great days. They shared a bond, the three cousins and enjoyed many happy times together. I look back with much fondness on those days, good times and wonderful memories of my three boys! Much Love Jason, Rest in Peace until we meet again. Aunty Johanna and Uncle Pieter
