It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Janet at age 82. She will be lovingly remembered for her dedication to family, her enthusiasm for life and her passion for nature,conservation, sports and science. Janet loved her work first teaching entomology at the University of Alberta and later in cancer research at the Cross Cancer Institute. She was alsoan avid volunteer throughout her life with the McKernan Community League, Olympian Swim Club, and in retirement with riparian assessments in the County of Bighorn near Cochrane, Alberta.
Janet is survived by her loving husband, David; brother Andrew; children Inga, Roy and Derek; grandchildren Alyn, Ryan, and Samantha; great-grandson Malcolm.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff at the Fort Saskatchewan Home Care office, the Fort Saskatchewan Hospital and the Rivercrest Hospice for their excellent care.
At Janet’s request, a private family gathering will be held.
