Janarius Pearl Bessette

-

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a very special mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, who passed away at the age of 86, on May 29, 2018, with family members at her side.

Janarius will be forever lovingly remembered by her children, Lyle (Cathy), Gail (Larry) and Kim (Eileen); her grandchildren, Ryan (Kristen), Angela (Grant), Katherine (Fred) and Elizabeth (Andy); her great-grandchildren, Nyah, Elija, Ava and Grayden, as well as her surviving sisters Geraldine and Margeurite.

Janarius was predeceased by her parents, Leslie and Mary Parker; her beloved husband Adrien; her sister Marie, and her brothers Rueben, Laurie, Ronald, Maurice, Lloyd, Gordon and Leon.

Janarius was a vibrant outgoing person who devoted most of her time to her family whom she loved deeply, and to volunteering at the Edmonton Southwest Seniors Association, for which she received a twenty-five-year service commemoration.  She loved gardening, crocheting, playing cards and was always ready with tea and goodies for visits of family and friends.  Janarius was a loyal Oiler and Eskimo fan, often at friendly odds with her son Kim, a Flames fan.

The family of Janarius Bessette would like to thank the nursing staff at the University of Alberta Hospital ICU who attended to Mom during the final days of her life.

If so wished, donations to University Foundation (Direct to Mazankowski) givetouhf.ca would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.

Janarius will be interred at a future date, beside her husband Adrien at Woodlawn Cemetery in Saskatoon, SK.

So sorry to hear about Auntie Jenny’s passing. I have fond memories of her from my childhood. Condolences from all of us in Calgary.

Janarius was always full of energy – I will always remember the fudge party we had at the hospital – despite her physical state, she was the consummate hostess. I am sending my love and prayers to her family. Anne Marie

Ronald Parker

Janarius was a beautiful person; fun loving and happy to share her time and laughter with extended family and friends. She was known to prompt the occasional sing along when family was gathered. She will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time. With love from Ron and Cheryl Parker and family.
