GORDON, James Richard
Jim passed away peacefully, in Edmonton General Hospital May 31, 2014 at the age of 69 years.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 48 years Lesley, sons: Hugh (Kim), Kristian (Emy), Richard (Joni); grandchildren: Connor and Sophie; sisters: Lillian (Harve), Kathleen, Gertrude and Charlotte and brother Ron (Elvina) and the Senga Family. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Emmanuel and Mary; sisters: Marcella, Jean, Evelyn and Marie; brothers: Cecil, Raymond, Gerry and Allan as well as father-in-law Andrew Schuck and brother-in-law Robert Schuck, Jim and Jennie Senga.
Jim worked in the photography industry for several years. He loved taking pictures of his family and friends and upon his retirement from Kodak, used his handyman skills working in building maintenance. He was able to fix almost anything and helped his boys with many projects. One of his favourite past times was golfing and he was a member of the Sandpiper Men’s League. Jim was also an avid Regina Roughrider Fan, even when they were losing. He would put on his Ronnie Lancaster Jersey, Rider Hat and cheer them on, much to the consternation of his friend Ken Nelson. Jim made friends easily and made everyone feel he was their best friend. We will all miss him dearly and he will live forever in our hearts.
Jim’s Memorial is being held Monday June 9, 2014 at St. Matthews Anglican Church, 125 LaRose Drive St. Albert, Alberta at 1 pm. Donations in his memory can be made to the General Hospital Palliative Care Unit 9Y, or to the Kipnes Veterans Home.
