It is with deep sadness that we announce Jim’s passing after a courageous battle with cancer. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered by: his children Matthew and Karly, their mother Lori Janssen; special friend Vicki Martin; father Frank Graves; siblings Bob Graves (Alayne), their son Hayden, Cathie Graves-Evans (Duane), their sons Aaron and Kyle, Elizabeth Graves, Diane Hawrelak (Ray), their sons Eric and Adam; longtime friends Bob and Carol Liddle; and all fans of the Hockey Prophet. Jim was predeceased by his mother Marion, and sister-in-law Darlene Murphy.
Jim was a man of great diversity, and always remembered the cause of those most forgotten. He challenged us all to think in new and different ways. Although he trained and worked as an engineer, he thrived living like an artist. His children were his greatest joy.
The family wishes to thank the special nurses and staff on Unit 5F4 of the University of Alberta hospital, and his many friends who visited him during his illness. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Garneau United Church or the charity of one’s choice. A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held Friday, April 28, 2017 at Riverbend United Church, 14907- 45 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta at 2:00pm.
