Dear Family,
Jim Lavers was a high school teacher of mine. He went to the trouble of visiting us at home to urge me to get involved in sports. I became the second-worst member of the basketball B team. I am still grateful for his interest and care.

Mr. Lavers was my teacher and principle at Calmar High School in the 1970’s. Although he was a tough, no nonsense man he was also a great, intelligent, and kind person as well. He was extremely good and caring to me and throughout my life I have never forgotten this. I will always remember him with fondness and respect. Rest in peace. You certainly touched my life.

Stu Orr, President, Riverside Senior Men
Jim was a member of the Riverside Senior Men’s Golf League and he will be missed. Although his golf game left a little to be desired, his score never bothered him and Jim enjoyed the banter and fellowship of/with his fellow golfers. Jim always had a story or many stories to share with us, he often talked about his grandchildren, was well versed in many historical areas, and how he was planning on writing a book. We were fortunate to have Jim as a member of our golf club.
