It is with great sadness the family of J. Roger Hamilton, of Fort Saskatchewan, formerly of Smoky Lake, announces his passing on March 15, 2017 at the age of 76.
He leaves to cherish his memory, Lynda, his wife of fifty-one years, his sons Ian (Charlene) of Grande Prairie, and Keith of Edmonton, grandchildren Gabrielle and Joshua, and his sister Rosemary (Darby) Paver of Sydney, British Columbia. He was predeceased by his parents, Cecil and Berenice Hamilton.
Roger was born and raised in Calgary. He graduated from UBC, with a degree in Forestry in 1965. As a Registered Professional Forester, he spent his career with the Alberta Forest Service, primarily in silviculture. He was an avid outdoorsman, an accomplished carver of decoys, and, of late, a landscape painter.
Funeral mass is scheduled for 11:00 AM, March 21, 2017 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, 10004-101 Street, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.
