Was sorry to hear of Isobel’s passing. I used to work as the Recreation Coordinator at the Lodge where she lived, and Isobel never failed to stop into the office and tell us what a great job we were doing, and how lucky she felt to live in her community. Sometimes on the hardest days of work, her kind words and encouragement could turn your day right around. I remember how she used to “sun tan” on her little lawn chair INSIDE the lodge when she would find a sunbeam peeking in the window on even the coldest winter days. And how she tended her little pot of plants just outside her door in the courtyard. She never saw the bad side of anything! Everything to her was a blessing, and her love for life and others was contagious. She was the sweetest thing I think I have ever met, and we would often joke at work that we wanted to steal her and take her home to make her OUR grandma! What a huge loss to not have her sunshine around anymore. She will be missed.

What an amazing lady!! A few of us “Houston girls” visited Izzie last year, We took stamps for her collection just as our mother always did. We shared memories of times on our neighboring farms. Izzie told us about Carl always treating her like a princess and how she, a city girl loved her home in the country. We are forever grateful for the help and friendship shown towards our mom and for all the wonderful memories.
Our deepest sympathy to all the family. God Bless!

We were saddened to hear of the passing of our family’s dear neighbour and friend, Issie. She was such a wonderful friend to our mom, and was always kind to all of us. We enjoyed visiting with her, right through recent years. Her kindness and warmth will be long remembered. Our condolences to your family. Cathy Houston & family.
