HOOD, Sheila

It is with great sadness and much love that we say goodbye to our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Sheila Hood, who passed away October 14, 2022, at the age of 80 years.
She will be forever remembered by her children Keith Hood (Carmen), Pearl Rogers (Tim), Stanley Hood (Diana); her partner Vagn Sorensen; her brother Lee Johnstone (Ro-Anne), her grandchildren Samantha Pasmore (Stephen), Nicholas Rogers, and Cooper Hood; her great grandchildren Wynn Pasmore and Walter Pasmore; her cousin Marlene Summers; Sorensen family; Hauser family; many nieces and nephews; and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents Elizabeth (1990) and Stanley (1989) Johnstone, her husband Robert Hood (2003) and partner Donald Hauser (2009).

Sheila lived a full and active life. As a baby she moved to Canada from England and lived in the Greater Vancouver area. She moved to the Peace River Country in her 20s to be a grain farmer and raise 3 kids. She also drove the school bus and was a municipality councillor. She lived near Blue Sky, Fairview, Rolla, and Little Smoky. In her 40s she was part of a paving company where she was a bookkeeper, gravel checker, and a flag person. She lived near Drayton Valley and raised cows between paving seasons. In her 60s she moved to Sherwood Park.

She had many hobbies which included: travelling in a motor home throughout Canada and United States, playing cards (Bridge in particular), gardening, dancing, and buying and selling stocks.
Cremation has taken place at Serenity Funeral Services and her ashes will be spread at a later date with her immediate family.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Strathcona Seniors Day Program, Rivercrest Care Centre, Summerwood Village Retirement, Dr Dusang, and Dr. Brass.
