Dear Autumn, I’m sure you know how very sorry I am for your loss. Hob touched my heart deeply many years ago and I am grateful that we were all able to continue our friendship for so many years. I regret that I did not act on my instincts and travel to Edmonton this October, as I had planned, in hopes that I could visit with both you and Hob. But, I didn’t follow my heart and alas, did not have an opportunity to see an old friend….
I suppose the Great Spirit knows best and needed a good man like Hob sooner rather than later. Hob and Dave are free to soar the cosmos on the saddle of their Harleys and although we may not see them, I know that like me and Dave, you will feel Hob’s presence in many ways over the days, weeks, and years to come.
I know that you have many friends and family who will gather around you at this time and provide a multitude of love and support but should you ever feel the urge to call, please do.
With love and condolences,
Kate

In the summer of 1997, at the simple request from my brother-in-law, Mr. Murphy provided my daughter Trieva, her ‘grand entrance’ to her high school grad by driving her to the door (literally) of the Shaw Convention Centre on a shiny new Harley. An everlasting memory! A true gentleman!

THE BROKEN CHAIN
We little knew that morning, that God
Was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same,
It broke our hearts to lose you,
You did not go alone,
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
You’ve left us peaceful memories,
Your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you,
You are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us back one by one,
The chain will link again
