It is with great sadness the family of Lovie Hlus announce her peaceful passing on March 19, 2021, at the age of 88 and nine months.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Ken (Barb) Hlus, Carol (Floyd) Torpe; her brother Tom (Sophie) Wowdzia; grandson Jason Hlus (Christine Fedorek); great grandchildren: Rowan, Dakota, Chase, Cole and numerous relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Steve; her parents: Steve and Jenny Wowdzia; brothers: Henry, Ed and his wife Bettye Wowdzia.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Cross Cancer Hospital and the Norwood Palliative Care Unit for their kindness and exceptional care.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions, we will be honoring Lovie with a private service on Friday, March 26, 2021, at 10:00 am, with Reverend Janko Herbut officiating. Ken, your Mom was so special, she was Loved by so many, young or old. All the young Loved her like a Baba, I know my Kids did. When you would go to the farm for the weekend you would take my kids they Loved it, Baba was cooking. I will not forgot her for the recipes we shared and my Kids will never forgot her, for her Love and her cooking. We all have memories that we can hold on to.
