It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gordon (Gordie) Hislop on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at the age of 77 after a long courageous battle with lung disease.
His memory will be cherished by his wife of 50 years Shirley Hislop, his daughters Shauna and Shelley (Stephen) and his five grandchildren; Vincent, Gracie, Ashley, Brooke and Scott. He is survived by his oldest brother Del (Heather) Hislop.
He was predeceased by his parents Evelyn and Hugh Hislop, his sister and brother-in-law Lois & Lawrence Shenner as well as his brother Bill Hislop.
A Celebration of Life for Gordie will be held on Saturday, September 14th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrew’s United Church – 1 A Fieldstone Drive, Spruce Grove, AB T7X 2Z3.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the team at WestView Hospital for their kindness, support and care shown to Gordie during his short stay there.
Memorial donations in memory of Gordie may be made to 2nd Chance Trail Ride Society, Elk Point, AB.
