Herbert Bushkowsky, a longtime resident of Edmonton, Alberta, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 25, 2015.
Born October 2, 1924 in Zhytomyr, Ukraine, he moved with his parents to Canada. He studied for the pastoral ministry at Mennonite Bretheren Bible School in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He ministered to many churches in his 25 year career. He married Shirley (Muth) and remained devout to her for 50 years. They were rarely separated until her death in 2003.
More important than any of his accomplishments, he leaves a legacy of his five children: Eunice (Dennis Liesch), Aaron (Diana Lyons), Miriam (David Foster), Naomi (Randy Voss) and Nathan (Carolyn Fewkes); his seven grandchildren: Kristen Liesch-Goodkey, Andrew Liesch, Jordan and Kayla Foster, Megan, Joel , and Austin Voss, and two great grandchildren: Imogen and Owen Liesch-Goodkey.
Services will be held at Central Baptist Church (9419-95 St., Edmonton) on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 1:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
