Helene Marie Fernande Clermont

-

Hélène, 70 has entered the presence and grace of our Lord to be forever missed by her surviving Family and Friends.

Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Hélène’s essential character traits of unconditional kindness and care were an endowment bestowed by her adoring and loving mom Madeleine Racine, whom along with her Husband Fred have pre-deceased her.

Hélène is survived by her sons Keith (Wendy) and Jason (Jennifer); grandchildren Erik, Ava and Carson, as well as her cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Hélène married her husband, Fred, in Ottawa and were married for 45 years. In her early years, she began her career in administration with the Government of Ottawa, then after a few years she and Fred moved to Calgary where they raised their family. Hélène enjoyed a long career with the Calgary Catholic School Board until she closed that chapter and began a new one referred to as retirement.

For those who have known Hélène – whether it was her all-day shopping adventures with a chance to encounter that perfect gift, volunteering, connecting with friends over lunches, or the lengths she went to prepare for Christmas, these joys will miss a final crescendo – as it is the loss we have experienced in Hélène’s passing, to no longer enjoy these with her. To have fully appreciated Hélène, is to also embrace her strong independence, her enjoyment of solitude with her pets and TV shows, her love of wolves and her insistence on spoiling her treasured grandchildren. She has passed on a legacy for loved ones to enjoy, remember and reminisce.

With her passing she has given the gift of sight to another. She was an incredible woman. She had an unparalleled zest for life and an infectious kindness that thankfully was passed down to her sons and their children. She always put her children first – her selflessness was beyond reproach. She will live on in our hearts, minds, thoughts, prayers, and laughs forever.

We will miss her gentle soul and all the love she gave however it is her spirit, the memories of so many wonderful moments we had with her and how it impacted all of us, which will forever remain with us. The family asks that you spend time with your children, enjoy life with loved ones and make a toast to enduring friendships lifelong and beyond. That is what Hélène would wish for you.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial tributes be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.

37 years ago a young man from Saskatchewan set foot in Assumption school and was immediately taken into the arms of the school mom, and secretary, Helen. My first 5 years of teaching, at Assumption, were joyfully blessed by Helen. Her kindness, humor and patience gave me a great start to my career. To the Clermont boys, your mom had many adopted children like me over the years. I/we were very lucky to have her in our lives. She will be greatly missed. God speed Helen.

Miss Helene will be sorely missed. Prayers for her children and grandchildren. She helped me see all three of my children through school and was such a wonderful neighbor. She and Fred were fabulous as neighbors, as church members and through the school. They were just such an integral part of the community.

Shelley Todd-

Saddened to hear of Helen’s passing. Deepest condolences to her children, grandchildren and family. Helene has always been fondly remembered by our family as she helped to see my sons, some from kindergarten to Grade 9, through school for the many years they attended Our Lady of Assumption. Her unending support, unconditional love and laughter really helped this single Mom to push on through the hard times-she always had a smile and such patience:) She is so lovingly remembered by ,
The Todd family, Shelley Jesse, Callahan and Taylor as well as my boys Harley and Hunter Symington.
