Helen Stecyk (nee Mielimaka)


November 7, 1928 – February 13, 2019

It is with deep sorrow and sadness our family announces the passing of our devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on February 13, 2019, at the age of 90 years, surrounded by her loving family.
She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by her children; Joan (Dennis) Cyca, Dr. Robert (Jeanette) Stecyk, Ken (Val) Stecyk, Carol (Bill) Flynn and Kathy (Peter) Kawalilak, her 9 grandchildren; Dr. Jonathan (Christine), Robert (Jill), Mark (Aya), Nicole, Jaclyn (Dave), Carlee (Paul), Dillon, Lukas DVM, Tyler and her 8 precious great-grandchildren; Jayla, Jaxon, Declan, Simon, Olivia, Hannah, Maria and Luke.
Helen is also survived by her sisters; Anne Bilyk, Frances Komarnisky, Amelia Hall, Eileen (Walter) Komarnisky and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband; Bill, grandson; Shane Stecyk, her parents; Anthony and Josie Mielimaka and sisters; Mary Bilyk, Kay Slemko and her brother Joe Mielimaka.
Helen lived a full and beautiful life. Her strong commitment and devotion to her family and her faith will be an everlasting legacy.
A Funeral Mass for Helen will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 13 Brower Dr., Sherwood Park, AB.
Interment will follow the luncheon at the Holden Cemetery, Holden, AB.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the wonderful staff at Harvest House for their kindness, support and care shown to Helen.

Sorry to hear of the families loss. Your mother was one of my favorite Holden aunts. Memories of all those August 15ths still resonate in my memory. The saddest is that we are now the oldest for our families when our parents are gone. Am unable to attend as am working that date
