It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of much loved Siegmund Heidemann. He died at 81 years of age at the Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton.  He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Anita; children Elizabeth (Robert), Barbara (Chris), Darlene (Craig), and Martin (Sharon); and grandchildren Heidi, Teaghan, Ben, Nicole, Noah, Charlie, Brooklynn, Landan, Cohen and Elyse.

Siegmund was a strong man, who battled heart disease and diabetes for the past several years. He was diagnosed with fibrosis of the lungs in March 2020 and went into hospital on July 30, 2020.  In the end, his body simply failed.

Sieg’s gentle soul made this earth a better place simply by being on it. Having him in our lives has been nothing short of “beautiful”.

A Visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Serenity Funeral Service (5311 91 Street) from 7:00-9:00 pm (open to all) followed by a Graveside Funeral Service on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at South Haven Cemetery (5004 Meridian Street) at 2:00 pm.  Due to COVID gathering restrictions, the Graveside Funeral is invite-only. Masks are mandatory.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alberta Lung Association or Grey Nuns Hospital.

Our thoughts and prayers go to you during this time. Fondest of memories at birthday parties and family gatherings, where Mr. Heidemann would engage in great conversations with everyone. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren. It was beautiful to see how deeply he loved his wife. Cherish the memories.
