On February 5th, 2018 Harold Couch passed away surrounded by his loving family.
Predeceased by his devoted wife Jean, he will be lovingly remembered by his cherished son Mike and precious “daughter” Martha; two adored grandsons, Darryl (Melanie) and Michael (Sarah); two great grandsons Thom and Andy; his “sister” Christine Ryan; nephews Craig and Mark along with additional family and many friends in Alberta, Newfoundland and England.
Cremation has taken place. Special thanks to doctors, nurses and staff of Grey Nuns Hospital and Devonshire Long Term Care Centre.
His spirit will live in our hearts forever. Now he and Jean will share their love of dance together again.

We have lost a very special person , the other half of the King and Queen team spoken so eloquently of by Art and Christine.
Since I met Harold and Jean and joined their dance classes in 1995, they each demonstrated all of the attributes cited by Art and Christine, and many, many others.
They were the first dance team to introduce ‘Modern Sequence Ballroom Dancing’, to best of my knowledge, to this side of the Atlantic, and each possessed the skills and patience of truly great teachers.
Since they left Newfoundland, one or the other continued to ask if we were still teaching the many dances they taught us. My answer is yes, at least the easier ones! only you two could do justice to the most advanced ones.
While here on their last trip to Newfoundland together, even with Harold energy beginning to fail, they allowed me to videotape a dozen or more of these advanced dances that I now posses as priceless memories of them both.
Thanks to Bev and Christine, I was aware early on of Harold s deteriorating health; it has taken me this long to formulate a fitting response.
Love and deepest sympathy

Mike, Martha,Darryl and Michael,
Christine and I are so very sorry to hear about the loss of Harold.
Harold had the most gifted, talented, optimistic, happy personality that was given only to those chosen few who were born. Harold was a man of caring who loved life and would find a way to make sure that while you were in his presence, you would feel the radiance of his special gift
Wether it would be his dancing, singing, acting, laughter or
his recall of the old movies and actors by name.
His influence on Christine and I as how we live our life is
showered by Harold’s love of his beautiful wife, Jean,
and Harold’s total love and devotion to his family.
Heaven will never be the same! When you look up to the open blue skies, you will know that everyone in Heaven
is signed and registered for Dance Lessons with the King
“Harold”, and the Queen, “Jean”.
At night, when you look up to the beautiful starlite sky, you
Couldn’t but notice the Two Special Stars huddled so close together and Winking continuously at you saying, “Don’t
worry Michael, Martha, Darryl and Michael, We Are Always
Here For You”.
Truly a very special couple who we love and we are so proud to know.
Our condolences,
Art and Christine
