HANSEN, Lilly
1924 ~ 2020
With loving family holding her precious hands, Lilly (Radke) Hansen quietly left this world for the next on Wednesday, September 9th, 2020, at the age of 95. Lilly, a woman of faith, loved her God, her family, her church family and, basically everyone she met. She radiated hope, joy, cheerfulness and kindness wherever she went and took great joy in serving her delicious home-cooked meals to her frequent guests. She lit up any room with her sunny disposition and vivacious spirit. Even through her years of suffering with dementia, the disease was not able to ravish her attitude of gratitude and hope. Lilly leaves to cherish her great legacy of faith, love and service her children, Iona (Ted) Degner, Wayne (Regina) Hansen, Garry (Jeannine Lemoine) Hansen, Clayton (Tannis) Hansen; her grandchildren Terry (Lee) Degner, Sherilyn (Fabian) Perez-Parada, Lora (Mike) Garneau, Janelle (Anil) Maharaj, Mark (Nancy) Hansen, Melissa Hansen, Jordan Lemoine, Meagan Lemoine, Kendra (Matt) Green; and 11 great-grandchildren. Lilly was predeceased by her husband Arthur (Art) Hansen, her parents, three brothers and one sister. Lilly’s family extends its deepest gratitude to all who loved and visited Mom and helped her in any way; and, a monumental thanks to the staff of Millwoods Shepherd’s Care Foundation. Their exceptional care for Mom and compassion for the family, specifically in the last five days of Mom’s life, cannot be overvalued or overstated. A private celebration of our Mom’s life will be held at Wetaskiwin Church of God, 4407 – 56 Avenue, Wetaskiwin, AB at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 17th, 2020, with viewing starting at 1:00 pm. Due to the current government restrictions on public gatherings, we regret that attendance will be by invitation only, however the service will be live streamed for those who are not able to attend (https://distantlink.com/SerenityES.html).

I have wonderful memories of the Hansen’s, Schuetzle’s, and Radke’s all getting together for a feast at uncle Art and Aunt Lilly’s. How Aunt Lilly made such amazing food for so many of us is still a bit of a mystery.

We both remember Tante Lilly as described above! What a beautiful legacy of faith she has left behind. She was also a wonderful friend/cousin to our Mother and now they can walk the streets of gold together. May the Lord richly bless and comfort you all.
