It is with heavy hearts that the family of John Kampjes announce his passing at the Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at the age of 79 years. He was born in St Paul, Alberta on August 9, 1939 to Henry and Niesje Kampjes. John will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife of 53 years, Frances; son, Tom (Cathy) Kampjes; daughter, Leslie (Victor) Majeau; grandchildren, Tyler (Kirsten), Jessica (Branden), Carter, Brett (Nicole), Austin; great-grandson, Bryce; sister Coby Hamstra; brother, Richard (Joan) Kampjes, as well as by several nieces, nephews, extended family and the many friends made throughout the years. John was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Niesje Kampjes and his brother-in-law Bill Hamstra.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 24 at 1:30 p.m. at the Gibbons Community Cultural Centre – 5115 51 Street, Gibbons, Alberta T0A 1N0. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.
