GURNETT, Richard Gene

February 26, 1946 ~ February 28, 2018

On February 28, 2018, Richard Gurnett passed away in Ponoka at the age of 72 years. Richard is survived by his loving family; wife, Irene; two children, Brian (April) Gurnett, Mervyn (Lorie) Gurnett; sisters-in-law, Doreen Gurnett and Debbie Gurnett; sister, Freda (Maurice) Phillips; brother, George (Amanda) Gurnett; four grandchildren, Logan, Aurora, Eden, and Laurenas well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. Richard was predeceased by his eldest son, Fredrick; parents, Fredrick and Nelda Gurnett; brothers, Stewart and Wilson; nephew, Darren; niece, Rhonda Van Koughnett and her daughter, Keira; in-laws, Lyle and Jean Burkitt and sister-in-law, Elaine Ireland.

A service honouring Richard’s life was held at the Wetaskiwin Mission Church on March 7, 2018. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations gratefully accepted to either Wetaskiwin Mission Church or Rock Solid Refuge.
