Andrea (Micklos) Carreau

Mr. Gour was a wonderful principal we had in the early 70’s at Holy Cross. Got caught skipping my one and only time by Mr. Gour and let me off without telling my parents as I promised never to do it and I didn’t. Our sincere condolences to the Gour family.

My sincerest condolences to Noel’s family. I taught at Holy Cross with Noel as my principal for two years 1969-1970 and 1970-1971. He was a great person to work with. He was always there to help and had a wonderful sense of humor. I will always remember him as a wonderful leader and person.

Noel will forever be a part of my life. He was one of my bosses while at the ATA – my mentor with a calm and kind heart and a teacher first.

Paul and Karen St. Cyr

Pat,Simon,Matthew,Rachel ,Damien and Family. I first met Noel intern teaching at Holy Cross , immediately he reached out to me to make sure I was included and had a great experience. A few years later lo and behold we end up long time neighbours. A lot of great memories and dialogues as the Gour kids grew up. A wonderful person, neighbour and long time colleague. Our sympathies and prayers go out to you all RIP Noel

I had the pleasure and privilege of having Mr.Gour as my principal and Math teacher at Holy Cross Junior High School in the mid-sixties. I recall the love and respect that students and staff had for him. I still recall my shock when I first saw him without a shirt and tie at the school track meet! I realized then that he was a ‘regular guy’ after all. I was also thrilled to reconnect with him during his years working at the Alberta Teachers’ Association. I give him credit for inspiring me to become a teacher and principal for 35 years and will be forever grateful for this wonderful experience. My sincere condolences to his family and friends who undoubtedly share my fond memories of this fine man.
