It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marge, on April 24, 2021, at the age of 70 years after her brief battle with cancer. Marge was a strong, vibrant, and fiercely independent woman who was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. She was the oldest daughter, who helped keep her rambunctious siblings in-line and had no difficulty keeping up with their various antics.
Marge met the love of her life, Don, in 1967 and they married shortly afterwards in 1968. Family was extremely important to Marge. Throughout their marriage, Don and Marge opened their home to various family members including Marge’s elderly parents who lived with them for several years. Don and Marge endured many hardships throughout their marriage but with each challenge their love for one another grew stronger.
Marge was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She loved her family dearly and was extremely proud of their accomplishments. Marge loved to cook, and she enjoyed experimenting with new recipes. She also loved hosting large family gatherings where battles for her delicious cabbage rolls or desserts occurred frequently. She cherished the time that her and Don helped Damon raise Hayden and Ryley and she spoke fondly of the various camping trips they took the boys on. Marge also loved to share stories about their various vacations with family and friends.
Marge was a hard worker who was rarely idle. She instilled a strong work ethic in her surviving son, Damon and grandsons, Hayden, and Ryley. Marge kept an immaculate household and took great pride in her yard, having a beautiful flower garden and the greenest grass in the neighbourhood. She was always willing to help others in their time of need, whether it be hauling away fallen trees, repairing fences, shoveling snow, or caring for loved ones.
Marge touched many lives and her kind-hearted, yet fun-loving nature will be greatly missed by many.
Marge is survived by her son Damon (Rae); grandsons Hayden and Ryley; her brothers Joe, Lee (Darlene), Cyril (Daphne), and Quentin (Norine); her sister Andrea (Leonard); her sister-in-law Carmen; and various nieces and nephews.
Marge was predeceased by her father Andy; her mother Reta; her husband, Don; her sons Quentin and Blaine; her brothers John (Wendy) and Wayne; and her sister-in-law Janet.
