Gordon, Rick Michael

Gordon, Rick Michael

1948 – 2021

With profound sorrow, the family of Rick Michael Gordon, 72, must announce his passing.  Rick is remembered lovingly by his wife, Martha, son Corey (Lisa), daughter Melissa (Jamie), and grandchildren; Grace, Carter, Jack, and Jeremy.

He is also survived by his sister Diane (Pat) in London, Ontario, and his brother Barry (Bertha) in St. Albert, Alberta.  Rick was predeceased by his parents Mary and Michael Gordon in 2018 and 2009.

Rick was born and lived his formative years in Windsor, Ontario.  He and Martha also called home Corunna in Ontario, and St. Michael, Parkland County, and Spruce Grove in Alberta.

Rick spent his entire career in Fire Protection and was known as a leader in his industry. He worked all over Canada, and the North, made many longtime friends during his career, and employed numerous local young men along the way.  Rick loved all things golf: playing golf, virtual golf, and watching golf.  Some of his best golf memories were in Mexico, Cuba, Jamaica, and Palm Springs.  He was an avid member of the Stony Plain Golf Club.

Rick also loved hunting, fishing, a good joke, a great story, and a game of billiards now and then.  Martha and Rick enjoyed their tropical and camping vacations.  In their youth, they loved to snowmobile and quad together.  Rick’s grandchildren were the light of his life and he cherished his time with them.

Rick passed on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 with his wife and children at his side.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, when we can all toast Rick together.
