It is with much sadness the family of Merv (Robert) Gold announce his passing away on July 6th, 2020 at the age of 67 years old. He is remembered with love by his wife Linda, children Kristine (Arman) and Dan (Kat). His wonderful grandchildren, Branden, Maya, Nate and Ellie will miss their fun-loving Grandpa. Merv was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta to Gladys and Albert. He is survived by his siblings, Gerry, Violet, Dave and his extended family.
Merv was a warm, kind man with a huge heart. He was a survivor with a positive spirit and loved to encourage others. His encouragement was limitless. He motivated his children to pursue their dreams. He was so incredibly proud of his children, telling everyone in his path that his daughter was a nurse and his son a doctor. With his support, nobody could stop them. He was a jack of all trades. He was incredibly hard working and always provided for his family. In his younger years, he became an accomplished drummer and began preaching. He graduated with a degree in Theology studies at CBA and was the class valedictorian. His passion for ministry was ever present, touching the lives of every person he met and those around the world. He could preach like a house on fire.
He deeply loved God, his family and friends.
We will all meet again in Heaven.
Thank you to every physician, nurse and health care worker who showed compassion for Merv during his 32 year battle with chronic pain and other critical illnesses. We are forever grateful.
