Gloria was born to Joseph and Tekla Holm on the family farm near the town of New Norway, Alberta, on May 22,1928. Their home was a strong Christian home and Gloria accepted Jesus as her Saviour at an early age.
The family moved to Ferintosh, Camrose, and eventually Edmonton. There, Gloria graduated from Nu-Fashion School of Hair and Beauty in 1945. Not long after that she opened her own Hair Salon in North Edmonton.
While attending Gull Lake Bible Camp, Gloria met Albert (Bert) Bamber, a student of Prophetic Bible Institute in Calgary. They were married October 3rd, 1947 and lived in Calgary until Bert’s graduation.
They then moved back to live on the farm at Winterburn where they raised their 4 children. Along with Bert’s full-time employment, together they farmed, opened and operated 2 retail businesses, and built and operated a small airport. For more than 20 of those years, they also pastored Bethlehem Baptist Church in Edmonton. He couldn’t have done it without her!
On April 2, 1974 Bert died in an airplane accident. On July 30th, 1976 Gloria married John Ozol, who was an electrician by trade. They resided at Winterburn, AB and spent 33 consecutive winters in Arizona. While in Arizona, John passed away December 22nd, 1997.
Shortly thereafter, Gloria moved to Red Deer to live in Victoria Park Retirement Community where she spent many happy, fun filled years. Needing assisted living, in 2015, Gloria moved to Michener Hill Extendicare in Red Deer where she resided until her passing.
Gloria is lovingly remembered by her 4 children and their spouses, Claire (Terry) Monaghan, Warren (Elaine) Bamber, Janice (Don) Collier and Murray (Lenae) Bamber, 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
