PAYETTE, Gilles Frederick
May 9, 1962 – October 30, 2014
It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Chief Warrant Officer (Ret’d) Gilles Payette on October 30, 2014.
He leaves behind his best friend, soul mate, wife, Charlene Dufrat; beloved son Correy Payette; and darling puppies Bryden and Bristol.
Gilles is also survived by his parents Ronald and Jacqueline Payette of Cornwall, ON, brothers: Jacques (Karen) of Summerstown, ON; Robert of Prescott, ON; Michel (Nancy) of Picton, ON; nephews Parker, Larson, Reed and Owen. And also by parents in law, Edward and Jean Dufrat, sisters in law Coleen Hirt, Sonya (Glen) Benwood, Michelle (Chris) Jarvis, and nieces and nephews Cassandra/Andrew, Hayden, Nolan, Erin, Haley, Hannah and Lauren, all of Edmonton, AB;
Gilles had numerous aunts, uncles and cousins as well as a very large Military Family who will miss him dearly.
Prayers and viewing will be held on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at ¬¬¬¬Our Lady of Loretto Chapel/Interfaith Chapel, Mons Avenue and San Fortunato Crescent, Garrison Edmonton. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lecture Training Facility, Korea Road and Vimy Avenue, Garrison Edmonton. Routes will be marked. A reception will follow at the Warrant Officers’ and Sgts’ Mess.
Gilles retired from the Military in July 2013, after proudly serving his Country for over 30 years. Gilles has been called to serve on another mission. “Paratroopers never die they just fade away”
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him…..
