It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anne (Neufeld) Gill. In the wee hours of Saturday morning, September 12, 2020, Jesus called her home to join husband Bob Gill, who had gone ahead 5 months earlier. Anne was known for her hospitality to all and love of family.
Anne was born in Manitoba, but grew up in Purple Springs, Alberta. She was the oldest of 8 children and when her family eventually moved back, Anne stayed in Alberta. She got a job, bought her first car and then taught herself to drive. After moving to Edmonton for school and work, Anne met, and married Bohdan (Bob) Gill and in the next three years they welcomed Rosemary, Chris and Bob Jr. into their home. Anne stayed at home until the kids were in elementary, and then returned to the work place to help provide for a growing family. Summers were spent camping and visiting family in Manitoba, and British Columbia. Together, they attended and served at Calvary Baptist church for 43 years. She enjoyed making quilts, attending Christian Women’s Club, having family and friends over, and travelling with Bob, even just for gas. In later years they went swimming, took walks through the ravine and continued to go out for coffee. They could often be found around a campfire or inside playing scrabble when the evening came.
Anne is lovingly remembered by their children Rosemary (Robert) Litschel, Chris Gill and Bob Jr. Gill; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; her four surviving brothers and sisters, as well as numerous family and friends.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2020 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Serenity Funeral Service, 5311 91 Street NW.
Anne will be laid to rest at Glenwood Memorial Gardens.
