It was a privilege knowing the Gibbards over the many years since my (late) husband Al and I moved to Edmonton in the late ’70’s, whether through various inter-church functions, as insurance clients, and then the Strathcona Seniors’ Center. Bill’s fine christian character and demeanour was a great witness of his strong personal faith in action.
God bless his memory to all he met.

Jackie Kovatch

My deepest condolences, I truly enjoyed seeing Bill everyday at Strathcona Place Seniors Centre, when I worked there. It was always wonderful to wander into the woodshop to see what they were creating! Bill was a wonderful talented man who was a gem to all who knew him, always quick with a kind word or a smile.

Bill was the first person I met when I came to Edmonton, he guided me and educated me about insurance in Alberta, he was patient with me when my husband passed away at an early age. He was a great friend and will be missed. God bless and may he rest in peace. He was a good man.

We haven’t had much contact with Bill and Gertie for many years, which is regrettable. However as time passes and families grow, that seems to happen to everyone. In our years as neighbors on the farm near Marsden I remember Bill as a kindly” Big Brother” with a caring sense of humor. Our condolences to the all the family relatives.

So sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. Bill was one of the great, steady and talented members of the woodworkers group at the Strathcona Senior Centre. We had a lot of fun together in the last few years and he was great source of knowledge. Always cheerful! Coffee time was the best when he would tell his stories.
