GIBB, Carol

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carol Gibb on August 30th, 2022 at the age of 59.

She will forever be remembered by her son Josh (Nicole), her sister Kelly (Dorel), her partner John, his daughters Ashley (Mitch) and Shaelyn (Nic), her niece Kali (Dallas), and her great nephews Kaiden and Ryder. She was predeceased by her parents Dave and Grace Gibb.

Carol was a free spirit who loved to travel, ride on the back of John’s Harley, go to the lake, and spend time on the boat. She loved all her many cats and dogs she had over the years. She also loved gardening and over the past two summers her backyard was a thriving oasis of plants and flowers for her to enjoy. Carol worked at FACs for over twenty years where she made many friends and impacted many lives. She will be remembered fondly as a kind soul with a giving heart, and will be missed by every person whose life she touched.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre who cared for Carol during her time there.

A celebration of life is scheduled for 2:00pm, Sunday September 11th, 2022 at the Woodvale Facility & Clubhouse (4540 50 St NW, Edmonton).

In lieu of flowers, donations in the name of Carol Gibb may be made directly to the Edmonton Humane Society, Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre, or cancer research.

We are heartbroken to hear about Carol’s passing. Will never forget meeting her in St.Lucia and becoming fast friends. It was like we knew her forever! Then the trip she and Johnny invited us to in Mexico was unforgettable. We had so much fun. Carol was truly a fun loving, kind, warm and welcoming lady. She will be truly missed. Our deepest sympathy to Johnny, Kelly and all her family and friends. We love you Carol and gonna miss you. Rest In Peace Carol.

We wish to express our sincere sympathies to Carol’s loved ones. I(Gale) always relied on Carol to be able to take my awful dictation and make it to real sentences that made sense. However it was not only her typing I valued. Her down to earth knowledge about patients plus her insights into parenting were so appreciated. No matter how the day went Carol could be counted on with her positive view and her “laugh’. Going back to FACS will not be the same without her there.

We wish to extend our deepest sympathy to Johnny. Their children and Carols family and friends.
Carol had a beautiful smile and a contagious laugh. She will deeply missed.
We first met in Mexico and developed a friendship to last over the years.
Bluebay will definitely not be the same, but the memories we made there will always be cherished.
Rest in peace Carol❤

Carol and I met at Economy Carries in 1996, she has been a constant in my life since then, we laughed, cried, danced and sat and chit chatted sometimes for hours. She was one of my Alberta sisters, I miss her. We lost a sister, mother, aunt & friend but the universe received a new beautiful star.

Kelly and family, I’m so sorry. I met Carol once and she was so out going and friendly. I could see myself making quick friends with her as I did with you Kelly.
This spring and summer has been difficult for all of you. It’s awesome you managed a few vacations together.
You’re in my thoughts.
Love you Kelly.
