It is with a heavy heart that we wish to announce the passing of Gerald Charles Noyen on April 29, 2016 in Fort Saskatchewan, AB at the age of 74 of gall bladder cancer. Gerry was the retired co-founder of Noyen Construction Ltd. an earthmoving company located in Fort Saskatchewan, AB. Gerry is survived by his wife Marlene, his son Peter (Cathy), his daughter Sarah (Sean) Kotri; his grandchildren Nolan, Logan, Maddison and Alexa, his sister Betty (Doug) Fulton; his brother Dan, his niece Stacey, and nephews Sam, Charles and Patrick. He was born in Vermillion, AB on October 3, 1941 to Charles and Peggy Noyen. He graduated from Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA in 1964. In 1963 he married Marlene, a nurse, and his highschool sweetheart. Gerry was a hunter, fisherman, skier, and golfer. He and his wife spent many vacations travelling to Africa, New Zealand, The Philippines, Europe and more. He lived life to the fullest, was known for his humorous quotes, love of sports, love for the outdoors and his business mind. In Gerry’s life, if you were a friend you were considered family and he loved us all.
A celebration of his life is scheduled for 3 pm on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at First United Church 10409-100 Ave in Fort Saskatchewan, AB. Friends who so wish may make memorial donations directly to The Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital. Following the celebration we will be toasting his life at Pots Bar and Grill located at 9821-108 Street, Fort Saskatchewan.
