It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Ronald O’Brien on August 10, 2019. Gary passed peacefully in the presence of his family after a long courageous battle with cancer.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Dianne O’Brien; son Gary “Ronnie” O’Brien (Lori); daughters Lori Bronson (Garret), Krista Collicott (Dave) and Erin Mealing (Garrett); precious grandchildren whom he adored, Briane, Gavin, Everett, Ethan, Connor, Alexis and Griffin . Gary will be fondly remembered by his siblings, Joan, Carol, Edith, Gail and Walter. In addition, Gary will also be remembered by many extended family and friends that filled his life with countless wonderful memories. Predeceased by parents Thomas and Doris O’Brian and brothers Ronald and Thomas Jr.
As per Gary’s wishes, a private Celebration of Life will take place in Beaumont, AB on Thursday, August 15, 2019.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to many physicians and nurses at the University of Alberta, Cross Cancer Institute as well as Dr. Roberts for their exceptional care and compassion provided to Gary throughout his illness.
