We will miss David, we worked together at DMI and played slow pitch and golfed (always a close match)while Joanne and Dave lived up in Peace river.
I remember Dave every once in while would phone me up & ask to look after his cattle or help moving his trailer for his new house he built on his Parents Homestead.
So sorry his health went and will be missed by lots of folks who knew Dave. Missed his funeral because of personnel health issues.

I only knew Dave for a few years as a co-worker, and I was immediately drawn to his personality, and sense of humor. We spent many hours talking about sports, and travel, as well as life conversations and the laughs that go along with them! I will miss him dearly, and again, my thoughts and prayers to all those lucky enough to be touched by this amazing man.

I heard the news with sadness last night. Dave was a great person to work with and an ideal colleague. Ever even and deliberately minded. Never in haste for he had done his planning. Dave was quiet but impressionable. For those left behind by Dave, be comforted by the of our Lord Jesus in Matthew 5:4 and hold firm in your faith for Dave has found rest in Him.

Cheryl and Jim Coulas

Michael Allen

It is with great sadness to here about Dave’s passing. I have gotten to know Dave for the last 8 years at Christina Lake. His knowledge and experience was unmatched by anyone. Dave was a very quite man until you got to know him and his sense of humor was quirky. I also had a recent memory with Dave and his lovely wife Joanne at our last team building . Dave having a great old time visiting with everyone he had not seen for months, having a few drinks, watching the Oilers kick but.

We will all miss you very much Dave.

Dale Allen

Our deepest sympathy to Joanne and family for the loss of a wonderful man. My wife Angela and I have been blessed to have built lasting memories with Dave, Joanne and friends of ours together. For myself Dave was a mentor to me when I was a young tradesman learning the ropes at DMI. Dave taught me the importance of safety, hard work and doing things right the first time and how it pays off in the long run, no wonder he ended up in a reliability role, it was his calling. I had the pleasure of playing sports with Dave such as baseball, golf, shooting pool and going fishing at Christina and Winifred lake. He loved fishing and we had some good talks about life out on those boats, solved a few of the world’s problems we would say, lol. Dave was a special man and has made a big impact in our lives. His dry humor and wittiness is one of the things that I will miss mostly, he knew when to chime in and say just the right words at the right time during a conversation and make everyone laugh. You will be missed deeply my friend. Rest peaceful in Heaven Dave.

Jeanne Allen

With my deepest sympathies to Joanne and family. Dave was a good man. Always the most generous host. So glad I got to see you both this August. Sending prayers.

Rest in peace David , it was my honor to have worked with you at Christina Lake and to sit with you at dinner once in a while to talk all things travel. My deepest sympathy to all your family, i pray they find the strength to get thru this very emotional time. A quote i found says it best “You live on – in the hearts of everyone you have touched and nurtured while you were here…Death ends life, not a relationship”.

It is with heartfelt condolences to Joanne and all of Dave’s family as we pay tribute to a wonderful man. Dave shared his wealth of experience and wisdom with so many of us at CL. It was a honor to have had the opportunity gain some of this knowledge and to simply talk hockey, pulp mills and everything in between. A lasting memory I will keep was during an exciting and fun time while on a team outing as we stood together admiring the accomplishments of our favorite hockey team and taking a photo in front of the Holy Grail of Hockey. Thanks Dave & God Bless.
