Franke, Norbert Christian

It is with great sadness we announce, Norbert Franke passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones.

Left to mourn are his beloved wife of 58 years Brigitte; children Victor (Kendra), Marilyn (Bob), Denise, Christina (Nick), Rosemarie, and Ronald (Dana); grandchildren Michael, Daniel (Danielle), Laura, Jordan, Hannah, and Hugo; great grandchildren Brittany, Ethan, Benat, Myra, Titan, and Mason; and great great grandchild Zachary. Also survived by sisters Magdalena and Dagmar (Germany) and brother Ruthard (Lillian) and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbours. Pre-deceased by first wife Genoveva, daughter Veronica, brother Elmar, sister Sieglinde, and brothers-in-law Bernd and Eberhard.
Norbert was born in Gloetzin, Germany and came to Canada in 1951. He had a successful career as a master carpenter, building furniture, homes and cabins. He was most happy when surrounded by his family, and family gatherings were many. Norbert enjoyed traveling and time at the cabin and later their home at Alberta Beach. He was an active member of the Concordia Lutheran Church.

Thanks to Dr. T. Flanders, Joanne Hewitt at the Cross Cancer Institute, Bayshore Homecare, Dr. V. Dhawan, nurses Sam and Jericho with AHS, and the Palliative Care Unit staff at the General Hospital.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
