It is with great sadness and much love that we say goodbye to our beloved Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather, Walter, who passed away July 15, 2022, at the age of 99 years.
Walter served in the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII and was stationed in St. John’s Nfld.
He went into business on Manitoulan Island in Ontario following the war, and then later to Rainy River, Ontario before moving to Herbert, Sask., where he owned Marshall Wells and Robinsons Stores. In 1968 the family moved to Regina, where he worked for the Federal Government until 1973 when he was transferred to Edmonton. He retired from the Federal Government in 1987.
His memory is cherished by his 3 children: Gordon (Wendy) Frank of Brooks, Alberta, Don Frank (Sonya Swityk) of Westbridge, B.C., Audrey (Randy) Eidick of Edmonton, Alberta. 10 Grandchildren: David, Sean, Jacob (Jill Plotnikoff), & Rochelle Frank (Matt McCotter), Trina (Mark) Pypers, Jill (Michael) Hooke, Greg (Erica) Frank, Chris (Lindsay) Vandermeer, Mike (Ashley) Vandermeer, Jenn (Curt) VanFilipowski
9 Great Grandchildren: Eli & Wyatt Hooke, Joshua Pypers, Eliesha, Natalie & Brendan Frank, Ezra Vandermeer, Zosia VanFilipowski, Jasper Vandermeer and numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his wife, Erna in 2014, his parents, Jacob & Johanna Frank, sisters Alma & Hilda and brothers Ernie & Larry.
A celebration of Walter’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Hosanna Lutheran Church, 9009 – 163 Street, Edmonton, Ab, with Pastor James Hendricksen officiating. For those wishing to watch online the link is as follows: bit.ly/HosannaEdmonton
