Forrest, Roy Ernest

It is with sadness we announce the passing of an adventurous and cheerful soul Roy Ernest Forrest at his home in Millet, Alberta on November 7th 2022.

Roy Ernest Forrest will be leaving behind his beloved dog Buddy and brothers, Berry Forrest, Steven (Shelly) Forrest, and Andrew Forrest; sister, Valerie (Gary Mcdonalld); nephew, Robert Forrest and passed spouse Angela Wilson. He will be joining his mother and father Donna, Roy (Forrest) He will be greatly missed by his extended family including sibling in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.

Roy was born on June 25, 1963, in Halifax, Nova scotia. Roy was the fourth born of five siblings. Growing up in Halifax, Roy spent most of his time outdoors where he both worked hard and played hard. In high school, Roy played lots of sports and hung out with close friends and family making unforgettable memories and achievements…of course, Roy’s true joy came from spending time with his two nieces, when they were together it was difficult to tell who was having more fun. He was a wonderful uncle and always considered it to be his most important job. Roy was very creative. Starting in his childhood spending time with his siblings, he often took the lead on creative projects building tree forts in the forest to small woodworking projects.

Roy had a visionary eye and talented gift when it came to all of his drawings. Roy spent his late years living in Alberta with his older brother Andy, seeing the mountains for the first time, fixing old cars, listening to his favourite rock bands, watching sports, playing darts and spending time with animals.

Roy’s family and friends will miss him dearly and know that life will not be the same without him but are incredibly grateful for the years spent with him.
