It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Debbie Folk on November 17, 2022, at the age of 73 years. Debbie Lamanes was born in 1949 in Esterhazy Saskatchewan to Robert and Julie Lamanes and was one of 7 siblings.
Debbie leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 55 years, Ron Folk and children Angel Lynch, Ronny Folk and grandson Devin (Sarah) Lynch, brother Bobby (Nancy), sister Bernadette (Barrie) and many relatives, in-laws and close friends.
Debbie was the matriarch of the Folk-Lamanes family, the glue that held us all together, the always welcoming smile and a hot cup of coffee in her kitchen that was the center of her home and our family life. She was an accomplished cook whether it was for a family gathering of 30 or a summer picnic for 6, her secret ingredient was the love that you felt, served up on your plate.
She had an affinity for flower gardening and her happy place was spending time in her yard tending the flowers and watching the Blue Jays and Squirrels compete for the peanuts that she would leave them each day. She loved babies (especially the grandbaby type) and animals of any kind.
After many decades of running several successful small businesses, Debbie and Ron retired 5 years ago and she had the opportunity to travel and spend more time with family, her precious sisters and all that were so very important to her.
In accordance with Debbie’s wishes, we will come together for a celebration of her life in the spring of 2023. Cremation has taken place, and future interment will follow in the Leduc City Cemetery.
“Her absence is like the sky, spread over everything.” C.S Lewis
