I just want to say how saddened I was to hear this news. I worked with Manuel on countless occasions at the Students’ Union, and it was always a real pleasure. He was helpful, he was kind, he worked hard, and he always seemed to have a smile ready… He made me feel very welcome when I first started at the SU almost 12 years ago and I will miss seeing him around.

Manuel was truly an amazing guy. One of the best. A real honest, hardworking, and dependable person with a joyful spirit. It seemed no matter how busy he was he was always able mix in a smile.
I was fortunate to work with Manuel years ago and it was always a real pleasure to go back to the Students Union over the years and have a chat and the occasional cup of coffee. It was a real joy to get to know Manuel. I will miss him. I wish his family peace during this difficult time.

Our condolences to Manuel’s family and friends. Manuel was the man who liked to work! He helped me a lot, always expertly and reliably. He had a genius for mechanical things. Many people benefitted from his talents. He was generous and cheerful. We got to know Manuel more personally some years ago on holiday with him in Phoenix, Arizona. He was a beautiful human being, and the world is much poorer place without him.
