Ewald Kwirant of Wildwood, Alberta passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the age of 68 years. Ewald will forever be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Linda Kwirant (Richard Scinta) of Drayton Valley; two sons, Micheal Kwirant (Tina Clark) of Drayton Valley and James Kwirant of Edson; grandchildren, Andy Kwirant, Madeline Kwirant and Shawn Kwirant; mother-in-law, Eugenia Ditner of Evansburg, as well as numerous extended family and an enormous amount of wonderful friends. Ewald is predeceased by his wife, Darleen; parents, Andreas and Berta Kwirant and brothers, Werner and Erich. Ewald, along with his wife, operated Ditner’s Feed Service and Supply Ltd. for many years, allowing them to make an abundance of life-long friends. Besides the operation of the business, Ewald served as Fire Chief with the Wildwood Fire Department for 38 years, was Chairman/Director of Lobstick/TRL Gas Co-Op for 38 years and was a loyal member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 149 and Unifarm. Ewald’s knowledge and strong conviction of fairness allowed him to serve one term as councillor for the Wildwood area of Yellowhead County. Ewald had many loves – his family, people, welding, farming, combining and CHOCOLATE. The Kwirant family would like to thank the countless amount of friends who have supported their father by lending a helping hand, showing kindness and by “being there” – you know who you are.

Ewald was so well respected as a businessman, neighbor, volunteer in his community and in his role as councilor for Yellowhead County. He will be missed by all who knew him. My heart goes out to his family who have lost both parents in such a short time. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
