Evelyn Alice Kadatz


In the early hours of April 9, 2016, Evelyn of Edmonton, Alberta, was called home to be with her Lord and Saviour, following a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 85 years.
She is survived by her daughter Karen (Steve) Prelusky; son Gordon (Cindy); grandchildren Brent, Leanne (Cal), Ryan (Kay), Chelsie (Dale), Mark (Tanya); 7 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Linda (Bob); four brothers Bill (Vi), Alfred (Susan), Len (Bernie), Rupert (Sharon); three sisters Esther Knudslien, Charlotte (Lynn) Patzer, Mable (John) Daniels; sister-in-law Bev Kadatz; brothers-in-law Ruben (Delaine) and Rod (Linda); her adopted brother, Kurt (Judy) Fellenberg and their family; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Evelyn was predeceased by the love of her life, her loving husband Wilfred in 1957; parents Julius and Elizabeth Neuman; sister Ruth Sharun; brother Robert; and most recently her nephew Dallas Kadatz.
We wish to extend our sincere appreciation and thanks to all who continued to visit and support Oma during these last few months. A special thank you to neighbours Kelly and Diane, the Palliative Care Program Team, Carla and Sandaldeep from Bayshore, all the caring staff at Palliative Hospice at St. Josephs Hospital, Dr. Danielle Michaels, and her Pastors and Church Family. Evelyn loved and cared so much for all who never forgot her during this time of her failing health.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 16 at 11:00 a.m., at Meadowlands Baptist Church, 2215-17 Street, Edmonton, with Pastors Kevin Williams, Jerry Ascher and Mel Jenkins officiating. Those wishing to pay their last respects to Evelyn may do so one hour prior to the service.
Respecting her wishes cremation will take place and Evelyn’s urn will be laid to rest beside her beloved Wilfred in the Millwoods Community (Moravian) Cemetery, 34 Street and 34 Avenue, Edmonton on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 4PM, all are welcome. If so desired memorial donations made to STARS would be greatly appreciated.
