It is with great sadness and much love that our family announces at the age of 77 years, surrounded by her family, the sudden passing of our mother and grandmother on April 5, 2014.
‘Once upon a memory
Someone wiped away a tear
Held me close and loved me
Thank You Mother Dear’
Emily is lovingly remembered by her daughter Shelly (Scott) Zurfluh, son Grant, daughter Lara (John Pierce) and her treasured grandchildren; Ashleigh, Logan, Sara, Shelby, Adam and Addison; her sisters and their families; Kay (Al) Hessler, Anne Galbraith, Jean (Mike) Love, brother-in-law Chuck Dunlop (Elsie), as well as many special life-long friends.
She is predeceased by her husband of 46 years Tony Sheppard, her mother Ida Hardock, her sisters Rose and Elsie and her brother Joe.
Emily was a vibrant, passionate woman who was deeply devoted to her family, yet still found the time and energy to build a successful insurance brokerage with Tony. She treasured her time at the lake with her family and friends and loved to regale us with stories of the adventures her and Tony had during their travels throughout the world. She touched many lives and will live forever in our hearts and minds.
‘If we had a single flower for each thought of you……
We could walk in our garden forever’
Cremation has taken place and Emily will join her husband Tony at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
At Emily’s request there will be no service.
Memorial donations in Emily’s honour may be made to the Stollery Children’s Hospital (Cardiology)
