Elsie Burn

Elsie was born March 12, 1924 on the family farm and grew up in the Golden Spike area. She was raised with 11 brothers and sisters on the farm.
She married Jim Burn in June 1945 and raised their kids Bob and Elaine in Spruce Grove. Elsie and Jim worked hard growing potatoes and vegetables, and Elsie also worked at the Post Office for many years. Elsie enjoyed cooking large meals for her family on all holidays which were always very memorable as they included her special homemade treats like pies, pickles, beets, jams and the best shortbread ever. Elsie attended church every Sunday , taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and was always involved in the church functions. Elsie was passionate about gardening and her flowers; she had one of the most beautiful yards in Spruce Grove. She loved playing cards with her friends and grandchildren. She will be forever loved and missed and is together again with Jim.
