Else passed away peacefully on March 22, 2015 in the presence of her family at Miller Crossing. She is survived by her three daughters, Chriss, Grethe (Larry) and Elizabeth (Vance); five grandsons Michael (Amanda), Peter (Tracie), Paul (Joanna). David (Brooke), Ian (Chelsea); one granddaughter Sarah, and five (soon to be seven) great-grandchildren. Her last words to us were “I love them all”. This epitomized how she lived a life of almost 96 years. The depth of care she had for all around her cannot be set down in words, but those who spent any time with her know how she cherished them. The outpouring of support and condolences has only confirmed how many peoples’ hearts she touched simply by being herself. This exceptional woman is now free again, and lives on with those who will always remember her. May we all have a life where we both give and are worthy of the kind of unconditional love she graced upon, and had from, us. As was her wish, there will not be a service in Canada as her final resting place will be in Denmark. Anyone who wishes to commemorate her life is asked to make a donation to Ansgar Danish Lutheran Church (9554 – 108 A Ave, Edmonton AB T5H 1C1) in memory of Else Norgaard, as that is what she would have appreciated most.
