On Tuesday, September 27, 2016 Else Appelt passed away at the age of 89 years after a life filled with love and adventure. Born August 16, 1927 in Bogdanka, Poland she immigrated to Canada (Edmonton) with her husband and her young son. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Winfried (Roxanne); grandsons: Alex (Katelyn) and Kent (Samantha). She is predeceased by her husband Artur; her son Reinhard and her seven brothers: Edmund, Anton, Leo, Emanuel, Samuel, Herman and Ewald. Else will be remembered as a lively and loving sister, mother, grandmother and friend.
The family would like to thank Dr. Karel Cemohorsky at the University Hospital for his dedication and the wonderful care he provided for Else.
Else has left her family with the following quote to help them through this difficult time: ‘Wenn die sonne untergeht, leuchten die sterne” (When the sun sets, the stars rise).
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 7607-89 Street, Edmonton, Interment to follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church.
