Elizabeth (Elsie) Mochnach
February 15, 1934 – April 5, 2017
It is with a heavy heart, the children of Elizabeth Mochnach announce the peaceful passing of their mother on April 5, 2017, at the age of 83 years.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving family, daughters: Elaine Mochnach, Carol (Len) Boyko and son Rick Mochnach; four grandchildren: Lyndsay (Richard) Kozey, Michael Boyko, Mathew (Kaitlyn) McNabb and Kristi (Ty) Sandstra; siblings: Anne Poshtar, Florence Menduik, Joanne Boyko, Eugene and Lawrence Mayko; brother-in-law Ed (Helen) Perlik, numerous nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her beloved husband Ernie, parents Bill and Agnes Mayko, siblings: Rose (Sam) Chmiliar, Christine Perlik, Nadia (Orest) Farion, Theresa Mayko, Paul (Francis) Mayko and Marion Mayko.
Elizabeth had a passion for entertaining, farming, gardening and making her special cinnamon buns. She loved a good story.
Elizabeth made a written request for no formal funeral. An intimate celebration of life will be held in Elaine’s home in Sherwood Park, later this spring.
A special thank you to Dr. John Slanina and the staff of Lamont Hospital and Auxilliary Hospital for the compassionate and loving care they provided Elizabeth for the last six years.
