Elizabeth Ann Pabst

It is with much sadness and much love that we say goodbye to our beloved mother, grandmother and wife Elizabeth (Liz) Ann Pabst who passed away August 4, 2017 at the age of 80 years. Liz was born in Calgary in 1937 and moved to Edmonton in 1956 to attend university, where she met Henry. Liz will be lovingly remembered by Henry, her devoted husband of 59 years; by her children Heidi Julien (Jim), Rick Pabst (Ruth), Naomi Pabst (Don) and Andre Pabst, as well as by grandchildren Kate (Jason), Stephen (Sara), Jessica, Philip, Anatola, Ian and Arianna, and by her sister Susan Fitzgerald (Fred).

Liz also had many friends made over the years in Edmonton and abroad. One of her fond memories was teaching children at Green Circle Pre-School in southwest Edmonton. Liz was a long time active member at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church and was an avid supporter of social justice causes.

A Memorial Service will be held for Liz at 1:00 pm on August 15, 2017 at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 11223 51 Avenue, Edmonton. Reception to follow. All friends and family are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Holy Spirit Lutheran Church are appreciated.

Met again in May at the ELLA course on books and reading by Laurie Greenwood. She helped Henry along. Now she’s gone, cannot believe it. Liz was such a loving and generous woman, and very firm in her commitments; and uniformly supportive to Henry as he aged. Liz, you will be mourned deeply, you were a gem.

I am so saddened by the passing of Liz. She was a loving role model and activist. In my heart she has always been my adopted mom. I will miss her dearly.
