ELLIGOTT, Gary

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Gary is survived by his wife of 52 years, Eileen; daughters, Laurie (Taras), Christy (Michael) and Mary-Ellen (Rick); grandchildren, Matt, Ben, Nicholas and Ava; brother, John; sister, Barb; niece Kim and nephew Jonathan; along with many dear friends.

Gary worked hard his entire life, right up to the day before he passed, and took so much pride in his work. With countless challenges, his family was what drove him to always keep going, his grandchildren were his best friends and his pride and joy. Gary often came across as rough and gruff, however those closest to him knew he was a gentle giant with the kindest of hearts. There was not anything Gary would not do for his family, friends, or even a stranger in need. He will be greatly missed.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial for family and friends will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Gary’s name to the Cross Cancer Institute by calling 1-866-412-4222 or online at albertacancer.ca
