Dwight Berg

-

We are deeply saddened to share that on Monday April 15, 2019, Dwight Berg of Sherwood
Park, AB, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 73, surrounded by his loving family.

He will be forever remembered by his wife of 50 years, Donna. His daughter Jenna (John) and
their children Kim, Kasidy, and Jake, his daughter Carmel (Ryan) and their children Mckenna,
Piper and Calum, and his daughter Kayla. He is survived by his siblings, Twila (Dave), Bob
(Gloria), Pat and Kathy (Michelle), sister-in-law Rhonda and sister-in-law Judy (Ron), along with his many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunties and uncles.

Dwight is predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Iona and his brother Chuck.

The family gratefully acknowledges the loving support of many family and friends as well as the compassionate care offered by the Cross Cancer Institute and Strathcona Palliative Home Care.

Dwight was born in Vancouver, December 2, 1945. He grew up in Marwayne/Dewberry AB.
This was also the time and place he met his childhood sweetheart Donna Robbie, whom he
married in August 1969. They lived in Edmonton then moved to Sherwood Park, where they
started their family. Work took them on adventures to Lodgepole, AB and Salmon Arm, BC, but they eventually returned to Sherwood Park where they raised their three girls. His
entrepreneurial passion led him to ventures such as Lazer Maze, Edibles and Huckleberry
Tours, Dwight enjoyed the last 20 years of his career as property manager for Rycor business
Center. When Dwight wasn’t working you could find him in his beautiful yard, helping out at his brother’s farm, or on the water, whether it be on a river or out at the lake. He loved fishing,
quadding, boating, hunting, trail riding and spending time at Laurier lake. Above all, Dwight was a family man. “Pops” was loved by his grandchildren and was a tireless hockey, soccer, football, dance, equestrian and music cheerleader. Words cannot describe the positive impact he has had on so many lives. His passion, talkative nature and humour will be forever missed.

A celebration of life will be held Friday April 26 at 1:00 pm at the Whitewood Barn in Leduc,
Alberta, 25016 Twp 483, Leduc County). Please dress casually and for the weather as it is an

Dear Donna, Jenna, Carmel, Kayla & families, along with Twila, Bob, Pat and Kathy and your families. It is hard to put into words how much sadness we feel in the loss of Dwight. He was such a great guy, easy to talk to, always interested in what you had to say, sweet, kind, caring, a great smile and just had the sweetest laugh. As kids, we were so lucky and blessed to have grown up with the Bergs just down the street from us in Marwayne. As a young girl, I always thought Dwight was just so handsome. Oh, the good times the Bergs and Hancocks had …. way too many to share. The entire Berg family will always be like family to us. We love you and we will miss Dwight dearly. His legacy will carry on in his beautiful family.

I met Dwight many years ago – and as each year passed, the strength of Dwight’s character became more evident. Its not something he had on display – but it was there. Dwight’s love for his family was evident. And Dwight always had a smile for others. He was a wonderful man – kind and generous to all. Remembering Dwight will always warm my heart. My heartfelt and sincere condolences to Dwight’s family.
